Johnson or Purser
Who can ask for a better finish to the Metabo Series in Ellen Brook on May 16 with the championship down to 3 pts between Mick Johnson and John Purser. The two Holden drivers’ have shown great form all year holding off 20 other drivers, but no love will be lost as both want to be Metabo Series Champion. The final is bound to have Johnson and Purser at the front of the field , but there is drivers out there who will mixed it up as round wins have not came for Ayden Trewern, Ken Tucker and the Fraser brothers.
Round 10 will miss drivers Paul Briggs, Kevin Ellement and Steve Beres, Brigg’s and Ellement’s car suffered major engine damage at the national title but Beres Car was absolutely written off after one of modified sedans spectacular roll over’s ever seen. Earlier round winner’s Brendon Selleck who showed great form at the national’s to finish second is very keen to bring the Austral VZ across the line first and Jason Pearce who a disappointing national title will very keen to maintain his 3nd place in the series.
Esperance driver Neville Mansted started to show good form and has a goal finish on a high by staying in the top ten but with points close, Ayden Trewern and Rookie Neville Bylund will have something to say about that. It’s been long overdue since Modified’s  had a major event at Ellen brook speedway and what a way to return, it’s not a event to miss with racing beginning at 3.30 come and see who will be the Metabo Series Champion for 2008/2009.
