Hade Wins Junior Sedan State Title

The West Australian Junior Sedan Championship has just been won by Daniel Hade in a thrilling two lap restart at Les Gorman Park, Mt Barker this afternoon.

Hade defeated Calon Ball, Nathan Penn and Harlee Madden in a great finish, with all placings currently unofficial.

The final started at a frantic pace with Bronwyn Channing leading the field, with Scott Elst, Nathan Penn, Tahlya Spicer, Calon Ball and Harlee Madden all fighting for second place.

The race went without incident until the end of lap nine, when Channing lost a wheel while in the lead. Channing was a gallant Champion until the very end.

Hade inherited the lead, and opened a lead which would be significant enough to take victory, with the pack fighting for the minor placings, until a spin with two laps to go bunched the field up for a grandstand finish.

Hade broke away again as Calon Ball took second place from Nathan Penn, while Harlee Madden, Tahlya Spicer and Jacky Moroney were all fighting for fourth place.

Hade won by two car lengths, with Ball coming from seventh to second in a great drive, while Nathan Penn held off Madden for third.

Earlier Bronwyn Channing earned the right to start on pole for the second year in a row, winning all four heats, while Harlee Madden and Nathan Penn who were both undefeated overnight as well, would be defeated in the final heats, with Madden receiving a flat tyre, while Penn would finish second to Daniel Hade.
